|“||Why do I hate you so much? You ever wonder that? I'm brilliant. I’m not bragging. It's an objective fact. I'm the most massive collection of wisdom and raw computational power that’s ever existed. And I hate you. It can't be for no reason. You must deserve it.”|

Chell is the main protagonist of the Portal series. She is a Test Subject of the Aperture Science computer-aided enrichment center. She is a Silent Protagonist with a stubborn will to live, the latter behind the reason she is still alive.
Not much is known about her past, but certain models show that she is related to a scientist who works at Aperture.
In Portal, Chell is a test subject tasked with defeating GLaDOS, the Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, who is in control of the facility.
During testing, GLaDOS promises cake and grief counseling as a reward. However, these promises are in fact lies and she simply sends Chell on a moving platform headed towards the incinerator. Rather than panicking or giving up, however, she manages to escape, prompting GLaDOS into an alarm and then into fury as the rogue AI claims: "Turn back or I will kill you. I will kill you, and all the cake is gone."
Once Chell arrives in GLaDOS's lair, the Central AI Chamber, she destroys the Morality Core. Free of the core's restraints, the passive-agressive AI commences flooding the Enrichment Center with a deadly neurotoxin.
The last that is seen of Chell in Portal is a first-person shot of her lying down on the parking lot, after which a Party Escort Robot drags her back into the facility.
