Mario is an Italian plumber and the protagonist of the Super Mario series. He is widely considered to be the most well known video game character ever. He saves a princess named Princess Peach from the evil Bowser in all his main series games. Besides saving Peach, he has also appeared in other genres of games, such as racing and golf. His main attack is stomping on the heads of his enemies, and he can also use powerups, such as the Super Mushroom, which makes him larger, and the Fire Flower, which allows him to shoot fireballs. He was created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, and most of his games are developed and published by Nintendo. Mario's games are usually exclusive to Nintendo's consoles, but there have been some exceptions, such as Mario is Missing! for the PC. His brother's name is Luigi, who works well with Mario, but alone he is a coward, as shown in Luigi's Mansion. Yoshi, a green dinosaur, is Mario's sidekick in lots of his games.
