Starlow is among the main supporting characters in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. She travels with the Mario Bros. during their adventures inside Bowser, helping to find a way out when everyone inside Peach's Castle is inhaled by him and to stop Fawful from taking over the Mushroom Kingdom.
Her name is a portmanteau of "star" and "yellow."
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story[]
Starlow first appeared in Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story when she was called to an important meeting in Peach's Castle.
She is a Star Sprite, supposedly all-knowing, and thus able to find a cure for the mysterious malady that is plaguing the Mushroom Kingdom. However, she does not appear to know a cure for the ailment.She is inhaled by Bowser along with most others within Peach's Castle after he eats the Vacuum Shroom.
She meets up with the Mario Bros inside Bowser and they team up to help the Bros. find a way out. Throughout the game, she also gives Bowser advice, referring to herself as "Chippy."
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team[]
Starlow makes an appearance in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team as a supporting character. She is the one who controls Luigi's dream events to help Mario get through a stage by manipulating Luigi's face in various ways.
